WICKNELL CHIVAYO AND MNANGAGWA: HOW ONE MAN GETS RICH WHILE ZIMBABWE SUFFERS

In Zimbabwe today, many people are hungry. Many do not have jobs. Life is hard. Prices keep going up. But while most people are suffering, one man is getting richer and richer. His name is Wicknell Chivayo. He is close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Many people believe he is making money because of this friendship.
Wicknell Chivayo is what people call a tenderpreneur. This means he gets many government jobs, or tenders. He is paid lots of money to do projects for the government. Some of these projects never get finished. But still, he gets paid. He is often seen taking photos with government leaders. He drives expensive cars and wears expensive clothes. He shows off his money while others are struggling.
Many Zimbabweans are asking, “Why does one man have so much while the rest of us have so little?” It is not fair. Our country is poor. Schools have no books. Hospitals have no medicine. Roads are full of potholes. But Chivayo lives like a king. He says he is successful because he works hard. But people know the truth. It is because he is close to Mnangagwa and ZANU PF.
Chivayo is not the only one. There are other people like him. They are friends with people in power. They get big contracts. They get rich. This is called cronyism. It means only friends of the government get good things. It is not about who works hard. It is not about who is smart. It is about who you know in ZANU PF. This is destroying Zimbabwe.
Young people are leaving the country. They see no future. Parents cannot pay school fees. Nurses and teachers are paid too little. But people like Chivayo are living large. This shows that the system is broken. The government is not working for the people. It is working for the few.
This is not just about Wicknell Chivayo. It is about the whole system. It is about a government that does not care. It is about a president who lets his friends take from the country. Mnangagwa promised a better life. He said he would fight corruption. But now we see he is protecting it.
Many Zimbabweans now feel hopeless. They feel angry. They feel like no one is listening. But we must speak up. We must not be silent. If we keep quiet, nothing will change. We must tell the truth. We must write. We must protest. We must vote. We must stand together.
Zimbabwe belongs to all of us, not just to Wicknell Chivayo and his friends. Our leaders must answer to the people. Our money must be used to build roads, schools, and hospitals, not to buy fancy cars for tenderpreneurs. We want jobs. We want clean water. We want a better future.
Let us not be fooled by people who show off their money. Let us ask, “Where did it come from?” Let us ask, “Why are we poor while they are rich?” The answer is clear. The system is corrupt. It must change. We must demand better.
Wicknell Chivayo is just one face of the problem. The real problem is ZANU PF. As long as they stay in power, people like him will keep getting rich, and the rest of us will stay poor. It is time to wake up. It is time to fight back. It is time for change.
